Advent reminds us that we live between the “already” and the “not yet”: that God’s kingdom is begun but not yet complete, breaking in but not fully here. In this quiet day we will reflect on what it means to live in that tension,a nd allow space for God to meet with us as we begin this season of preparation.
Led by Stephanie Couvela, the Anglican Chaplain at Keele University, where she has been since 2015. She came to Keele from a chaplaincy at Scargill House, a retreat and conference centre in the Yorkshire Dales, and before that parishes in leafy Surrey and a slightly dodgy bit of North London! Although she has been ordained since the last century she dimly remembers a life before that working in radio and TV.
Our Advent Quiet Days give you the opportunity to step aside at the start of the Advent season. Your day will be punctuated with inspiring reflections and prayer, but will also give you quiet space for your own reflections and response.
