Do we focus upon a distant event which occurred over 2000 years ago or it is relevant for every human being upon the earth today?
What does it mean if God loves everyone unconditionally?
How, through the birth of Christ, do we become more human in our desire to be like Christ?
This day will take issues such as Poverty, Gender, Ethnicity, Disability, Sexuality and Mental Health and look at them through the lens of Christ’s birth. In doing so, the questions raised here, and many others will be considered. This day is a chance to stop and reflect upon our place with our neighbour in God’s Kingdom and ask the question: Who is included? Using Scripture, stories and questions, this Inclusive Advent Quiet Day aims to install a new inclusive vision of the Kingdom for all.
Revd David Babbington is the Regional Ambassador for Inclusive Church and a priest within Lichfield Diocese. Having just completed his MA in Theology, he brings to the discussion his many years of working for justice and equality. His sense of humour is such that topics such as this are easily accessible and yet challenging. He uses real-life stories to enable people to understand that the Church is something we are all a part of and not something to be observed.
